there's no rhyme or reason for the way it turned out to be

Top: Topshop      Skirt: Primark      Necklace: Fossil

Another skater skirt today! I couldn't resist this skirt when I found it in Primark last week, I fell instantly in love with the pattern. This stained-glass-window kind of design keeps popping up all over the place  - Motel certainly seem to be fans. I remember coveting their stained-glass-window print dresses last winter!

Earlier today, I met up with some old friends for a good catch up. Well, I say old - I've known them for about 4 years, but any friends that I met before uni have become "old" ones in my mind! As usual, this catch up went far too fast. Ridiculously, this was the only time that the five of us have all been able to meet up over the summer - everyone's so busy! - and we don't know how long it'll be until we're all back together again. One of the girls is off on a year abroad in a couple of weeks, living and working in Bologna, then Rome, then Berlin. Jealous much? I know I am! She's going to have an incredible time, though it's quite sad that we don't know when any of us will see her next.

Shoes: Primark

I decided to keep my shoes (and indeed the rest of the outfit) fairly plain, seeing as the pattern on my skirt was so bright! These are my go-to plain flats. Slipper pumps were big for a while, weren't they? I don't know if that trend is still going strong, but I'm still a fan.

Yeah, I'm the same way about calling "old" friends the ones I knew in high school... man, so hard to believe that was three years ago for me. We're all getting so old!
