Hello!
Wow, it's been a while since I last posted, apologies! Man do we have a lot of catching up to do.
The primary reason for my recent absence is that it's been Freshers', and I've been MEGA busy. As I've mentioned previously, I'm co-running CUTV (our university's student tv station) this year - which, FYI, has been so much fun so far.
We set ourselves the massive challenge of live streaming a show every day during Freshers' - that's 12 days in total. Live streaming is very new territory for CUTV, so it's been scary and a lot of hard work, but I'm so proud of how we've done. I don't think we quite realised just how much work would need to go into making a daily live show, though; every day we were up at 9am planning and setting up, filming the show (CSM Live) from 11, then the rest of day was spent filming and editing content to go into the next show. Since we also filmed every club night, this meant our controller (boss) Kayleigh and I would often be in the office until the early hours of morning editing, too. I'd estimate that I had an average of 3 hours' sleep per night for those 12 days.
None of it would've been possible without our incredibly hard working team, who haven't ceased to astound us with their dedication, ideas and enthusiasm. Honestly, I'm still a bit awestruck by how great they've been. Plus, we've had so many lovely comments from friends and colleagues, amongst others, about the show and all the hard work that's gone into it, which just makes it all so worth while!
ANYWAY, enough about that. I wore this outfit right at the start of Freshers' for a student media training day, which turned into a (very long) trip to the pub and a night out. I'm so in love with this jacket, it just jazzes up any outfit. Zara are masters at smart-but-cool-and-laidback, aren't they? Definitely the best place for office appropriate clothes that don't look too dry and dull. Not that there's a dress code for student media stuff (LOL, imagine), I just fancied making a bit of an effort.
Since there was a possibility (read: definite plan) that we would be going out after the training day, I thought these heeled boots would be a good shout - not TOO dressy, but again just something a little bit smarter. Plus, I hadn't worn these in ages and I wanted an excuse!

Boots: New Look (years ago)

So Freshers' is over, and I can finally have a little bit of rest. I might make another post on everything that I've been up to, as there;s so much I want to talk about! I've had some incredible experiences over the last couple of weeks. For now, though, here's an episode of CSM Live, our daily Freshers' show. This is arguably one of our best episodes, and includes an interview with TV presenter and Radio 1 DJ Jameela Jamil!
