maybe the internet raised us

Jacket: French Connection         Vest: Topshop         Jeans: New Look
Necklace: Internacionale

Today I learnt never to underestimate the potential of a simple shopping trip.
Earlier on, the parents and I headed over to a big outlet retail park called Cheshire Oakes. I wasn't expecting to buy much, to be honest, as none of my usual favourites are there (clothes store wise, at least) - I just wanted to pick up a couple of things from The Body Shop. A few of the more high-end fashion stores have outlets there, though, so I had a bit of a browse, even though I knew they'd probably be out of my price range!

One such shop was French Connection, which I've come to realise can be relied on for HUGE discounts this time of year. I guess it IS January sales time, after all. Anyway, I fell in love when I found this bomber jacket (pictured), and managed to nab it for just £29! It was originally priced at £97. Yikes.

Yet again, it was dark by the time we'd got home, so I had a bit of a job trying to find somewhere with decent lighting/surroundings that looked at all nice... still not sure about the back lighting here though! Ah well. I'll keep hunting for the best locations around the house. Although I'll be back in Cardiff from Wednesday anyway, so I'll need to find the best spot in our uni house! Blogger problems eh?

Back to the clothes! I decided to keep the rest of the outfit fairly plain for these snaps; I think the jacket goes well with a fairly minimalist outfit. Having said that, I'm intrigued by the idea of trying it with printed dresses too, though, so look out for it in future outfit posts! It's also really soft and warm, perfect for winter.

Speaking of soft and warm, we also came across some little feathered friends whilst shopping...

They'd come to the retail park from an owl sanctuary in Rhyl, but, sadly, they weren't for sale. The little guy on the far left stole my heart - he was so tiny!! Worryingly, I now genuinely really want a pet owl. Which I'm not sure is a thing outside of Hogwarts. Guess I'll just have to go to Hogwarts then...

  3. I'm definitely loving the jacket too! and for such a steal! Once I went to French Connection and they had this amazingly beautiful pale pink with black lace cocktail dress and it just happened to be the last one left and in my size and everything so obviously I had to try it on. Turns out it was on sale from $180 to $50 because it was the last one and then the store was having 20% off the entire store so it got another %20 off after that. Yay!
The owls are so cute, although I couldn't imagine owning one. The pics also made me jump straight to Harry Potter too I actually thought it was part of a new post, haha.
