Kimono: Primark Dress: Republic Bikini: Primark
Necklace: River Island Bracelets: All sorts of places!
A week or so ago, when the weather was a little more summery, a few friends and I went for a lovely beach day at Barry Island (yes, of off Gavin and Stacey fame). It's probably the nearest beach to Cardiff - if not, it's certainly the easiest to get to, and a day return train ticket there is cheap as chips! Or, more appropriately, fish and chips (ehhh see what I did there!)
As I write this, I'm in the deep dark depths of revision hell, so looking back on that beach day is cheering me up a bit. It was gloriously sunny for most of the day, but admittedly it did get a bit chilly on the seafront at times - it is the British coast, after all! Still, we had a great time sunbathing, catching up on some reading (Game of Thrones, of course), perusing the arcades, burying each other in holes and building sand... um... dragons (check my instagram for proof).
On to the clothes. This kimono might be one of my favourite Primark finds EVER. I may have mentioned it before, but I'm a little too obsessed with kimonos... whenever I'm out shopping, I have to remind myself that the four I already own are probably enough to suffice!
(Excuse the tan line!)
This dress is also a summertime favourite of mine. Although I LOVE the twisted back, it's not the easiest thing to wear with a bra... you either have to embrace the yeah-my-straps-are-showing-so-what look, find a low-backed strapless number, or just brave it and go braless - although there may be a little too much of a side-boob risk for this option! Alternatively, I think it works pretty well with a bikini - is it me, or is it weird that bra straps showing are so often a no-go, but bikini straps showing are perfectly fine? Fashion eh!
I can't wait for more summer weather and more beach trips - here's hoping it gets warmer again after my final exam on Wednesday (gah so soon!)

DUDE you built SAND DRAGONS? That is mighty kickass right there. Way to go. :D Did they destroy any sandcastles? Aaahh if only they could come to life and do so.
