coming out of the woodwork

04/10/2014

Top, shorts and necklace: all Topshop
Jacket: Zara
Shoes: New Look

These outfit shots are a week or so old now, but I've only just found the time to upload them! In my last post, I talked about how much I've been loving the British heritage look at the moment (I think Downton's return has something to do with it), but I'm also really loving the fact that 60s style is taking the highstreet by force at the moment! I was initially sceptical when polo neck tops and jumpers started popping up everywhere again, but now they've completely won me over.

In fact, as I write this, I'm currently in London for a couple of weeks with my job and, since it's Saturday, I took the opportunity earlier to explore Oxford Street for the first time (I know, I can't believe I haven't been before). And what did I come back with? A polo neck jumper, of course! It was actually the only thing I bought in the TopShop flagship store, I'm surprised at myself for being so restrained! I did splurge a bit in Urban Outfitters too though... I'll do a "new buys" post soon to show you what I picked up!

The suede shorts were another TopShop buy, though I bought them online a few weeks ago. I couldn't believe my luck when I saw that they were reduced, they're the sort of thing I would've thought would sell out almost instantly! Oh well, it means there were some left for me! I'm already getting excited at the prospect of wearing these to festivals next year...

The jacket is a little older, but still one of my favourite items in my wardrobe. If you've been following my blog for a while, you may have seen it before in this post. You'll also know that I'm a sucker for prints, especially anything aztec or ethnic, which made this jacket very hard to resist!

Oooft, I've rambled on a bit today haven't I? Maybe I'm making up for not posting so much recently! Hopefully I'll be able to post again soon.

    1. Thanks Deborah! Yeah London's great isn't it? I've never spent that much time here before, but I've managed to do a bit of exploring inbetween working :)

  3. I am so glad you mentioned Downton Abbey--that is my program! It's like a treat for me to myself at the end of the week after the exams and assignments--I will sit there and eat four slices of (medium, only a medium!) domino's pizza and enjoy it. Lol! I adore a good polo neck and the vintage style jacket! And hels yeah to splurging at UO, I did too, girl!
