how does it feel when there's light shining on your every intention

...
Just give me a minute.
I'm still coming to terms with how much I love this jacket. I've been wanting a suede fringed jacket forever and ever and ever for quite a while, and decided to go on a bit of a hunt when I was given some money for Christmas. None of the high street stores seemed to have the very thing - I guess it's more likely to be in the summer lines - so I decided vintage was the way forward. It's the kind of thing that looks better if it's a little worn and rough around the edges anyway! When I came across this brown suede beauty on Violet Attic's Etsy shop I knew it was the one.

The scarf is something I picked up from an Urban Outfitters sale back in my first year of uni... a whole 3 years ago now, which seems completely mad! I still really like it, though, and have been using it to layer up quite a bit this winter. I felt it complemented the jacket nicely! Since there was so much going on with the jacket and scarf, I decided to keep the rest of the outfit fairly plain, with just a simple black dress and a touch of jewellery (I mean, I can never quite ditch the bling altogether).

I don't really have much news to report... I'm into the second week of my new job now, and I'm really settling in and enjoying it. There's a great, friendly dynamic in the office, and I've had the chance to do some fun stuff already - I spent part of today drawing and starting to animate a cartoon dragon, which was pretty sweet!

With the first festival line ups being announced and the new spring/summer stock starting to come in, I'm getting very excited for festival season and summer trends already. The 70s are set to be a massive influence this season, which makes me VERY happy. If you've read many of my previous posts, you'll know that I've been liking the 70s look a lot recently! I'm thinking this jacket is pretty 70s too... suede + fringing = dream combo.

What do you think of the new season's predicted trends? Are you as obsessed with the 70s at the moment as I am? (I can't be the only one!)

  1. I love the earth tones in this outfit. So awesome to hear that your new job is going well and animation sounds so dope. I can't wait for festival season either. I'm planning on going to my first one this year and I just want summer to come faster haha. I'm so over the rainy doom and gloom. I just need my warm weather.

Also the 70s are definitely making a comeback. I've been seeing bell bottoms and flower power so much lately but I'm not complaining haha. I think if anything I sense some flower print sneaking into my own summer wardrobe. Along with daisy crowns I plan on making at said festivals.
