HAPPY 2015!!!
I'm back in Cardiff now after a lovely Christmas break back home in Cheshire. In fact, as I type this, I've just finished day one of my new job! How's that for "new year, new start"?
Sorry for the slightly grainy quality on this shoot - we get so few hours of daylight at the moment it's hard to get enough natural light to work with! I wore this outfit for a day of meeting up with old friends (with a coat over the top when I had to brave the cold, of course). I'm absolutely in love with this kimono, which I found in an Urban Outfitter sale back in October. At the time, I didn't think I'd get much wear out of it until next summer, so I'm glad I managed to layer it up for winter!
This scarf is exactly what I needed for these cold winter months - drape over shoulders for extra warmth! It was a Christmas present, which I discovered was from a lovely small retailer called Tilletts, based in Lincolnshire. This made me love it even more, as it feels that little bit more unique! It's also super soft, and I can't resist a good plaid print.
Clashing prints is always tricky to get right, but I think (or hope) I've pulled it off on this occasion! I think the key here is that the print on the kimono is so delicate, whereas the plaid of the scarf is chunky enough to strike a good contrast. Paired with plenty of jewellery, the result is a cosy winter boho look (score!)

So awesome about that new job! I love the delicate print with the more chunky tartan print and I would have loved to see the outfit with the coat (I will never get enough of winter coats). I definitely need to get one of those cozy scarves for myself so that I can brave this crazy cold season.
