we need a catch up - plus introducing helsyeah.co.uk

05/09/2015

It's been a funny few months. I think it's about time I brought you all up to date on my life, insta-style.

It's just over a year since I graduated from university, and I've definitely experienced a bit (a lot) of the cliche'd graduate existential crisis. No one really tells you how hard the first year after uni is going to be, or if they do I guess most of us choose not to listen.

Anyway, over the last 12 months I've done a few different jobs - mainly because it's tricky to find companies offering permanent entry-level contracts at the moment - and I've spent a lot of time thinking about what I really want to do with my life. I still don't exactly know the answer, but what I've learned is that I need creative outlets, otherwise I go a bit insane. For the past few years, blogging has served as a great creative outlet, but for some reason I've let it fall to the wayside recently.

So, I've decided to return to the blogosphere with a new focus. Instead of posting primarily about fashion as I have done in the past, Hels Yeah will now be a home for posts on all aspects of lifestyle and creativity. This will still include fashion (as it's still an obsession of mine), but to a lesser extent. Previous readers of my blog might also notice that it's undergone a bit of a redesign!

Though these changes might not sound too drastic, they're enough to give myself and Hels Yeah a bit of a fresh start. Oh, and did I mention? We also now have a new home! Welcome to:

So, about that catch up. I'll keep it short and sweet. I may not have been blogging over the past few months, but that hasn't stopped me from documenting some outfits...
Skirt: Violet's Attic, top: Primark // Blazer, top and trousers: all Topshop // Top and flares: both Primark // Dress: New Look, jacket: Zara

Now's probably a good time to mention that, due to a few factors (mainly money related), I've moved away from Cardiff and back in with my parents for a little while. Despite living back in England, though, I'm managed to get out and explore Wales a fair bit!

It wouldn't be summer without a few festivals! This year, I was lucky enough to go to Glastonbury again, and I had an absolute blast. I told you all about my first Glastonbury last year, and my appetite for the festival has by no means diminished. It's my favourite part of the year - far more exciting than Christmas or my birthday! Although, my birthday this year was particularly good; what better way to spend it than watching the legends that are Fleetwood Mac?! They've definitely still got it, and Stevie Nicks is such an icon. In the past couple of weekends, I've also been down to Reading for a festival my friend's family organises called Megabash (a yearly tradition), and to London for Notting Hill Carnival, both of which were so much fun. I love festival season!!

There's not much else to report at the moment, so I'll wrap up this rather long post. I'd love to know what you think of the blog's new layout and more lifestyle-skewed focus, feel free to drop me a comment below!
