I'm kicking off 2016 with a VERY minimalist outfit for me - there's not a print in sight!
It seems I do occasionally like to keep it simple, especially when a tricky statement item like thigh high boots are involved. I've decided that a knitted, polo neck dress like this is the perfect way to tone down the thigh highs, and I just couldn't resist the gorgeous wine red colour of this one.
I actually wore this outfit for a meal on New Year's Day. Now's probably a good time to mention that I spent New Year at my parents' cottage in Snowdonia, which is a rural, mountainous area of Wales. It was beautiful and so much fun, but very cold. This outfit, therefore, seemed like an ideal compromise between dressing up a bit and staying cosy. I also opted to wear tights, as it really was freezing outside, but with a dress this demure you could probably get away with flashing a bit of flesh above the boots.
Matching wine red lips were a no-brainer, but I've been keeping the rest of my make up fairly simple recently, sticking to nude-toned eyeshadows and/or a light flick of eyeliner. I have, however, been switching up my skincare routine a bit - more info on that in some posts coming soon!
Gorgeous outfit, love the dress! <3
